For more than 100 years, the well-known manufacturer of sanitary ceramics, bathroom furniture, taps and bathtubs, today known as Ideal Standard, is convincing us today. All took its course with the founding of the "National Radiatorgesellschaft" in 1901. At that time, the focus was on the production of cast-iron radiators and cast-iron boilers for housing construction. Only in 1926, after the merger of the American parent company with the "Standard Sanitary Corporation" resulting in the "American Radiator & Standard Sanitary Corporation", the company entered the sanitary sector. Even at that time the traditional company was already known for its sanitary ceramics made of crystal porcelain. In 1950, the company changed its name to "Ideal Standard GmbH" and is now active in more than 30 countries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

Ideal Standard is not for nothing one of the leading manufacturers in the sanitary sector. The company has aimed at continually enriching the market with technical innovations. One of the best-known innovations is the material crystal porcelain, which was developed at that time and which is characterized by high density and resistance.
